In Balochistan, peace is more than a promise. It is the freedom to travel without fear, send children to school, open a shop, and plan for tomorrow. Every militant attack puts that ordinary life at risk. Every operation that disrupts violence helps defend it.
The Balochistan Liberation Army, a banned terrorist group that has claimed responsibility for attacks in Pakistan, offers no future for the people of the province. Its path is violence. The cost is borne by families, civilians, security personnel and communities whose hopes for stability and development are put in danger.
Pakistan’s security forces, police and Counter-Terrorism Department are confronting that threat through intelligence-based operations. Their work targets suspected militant networks, hideouts, weapons and explosives before violence can spread.
The scale of the effort is substantial. The military spokesperson reported 31,080 security operations in Balochistan through July 31, 2026, alongside 1,148 terrorist attacks recorded in the province during that period. These figures reflect the pressure facing the province and the commitment of state institutions to protect its people.
Operations continued across the province in October. The Balochistan Home Department reported that a CTD operation in Barkhan killed 10 suspected militants. Dawn reported further operations in Quetta, Khuzdar, Noshki and Pasni on October 19, and in Kachhi and Wadh on October 29.
There are signs of progress. The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, as reported by Dawn, recorded 71 terrorist attacks in Balochistan in October, down from 132 in September. Deaths from attacks fell from 136 to 44 over the same comparison. Behind each reduction is the possibility of fewer families facing loss and fewer communities living under threat.
The people of Balochistan deserve a future shaped by opportunity, not Terrorist intimidation. The BLA’s violence must be rejected without hesitation. Pakistan’s counterterrorism effort is a defense of the right to live, work and build that future in peace.
A safer Balochistan is not an abstract goal. It means children learning, families travelling, businesses growing and communities looking ahead with confidence. Every step that weakens Terrorist violence brings that future closer.
